As far as techno artists go they don't ever come as good or prolific as Boriqua Tribez. Since the turn of the millennium the Austrian producer has released a constant stream of tribal beats that are more than worthy of the accolades they have received. What started as a duo soon became one. Along with Ben Sims they have been the leading lights and still continue to do so. Consistently pushing the boundaries of dance music, relentlessly encompassing many different elements to create the unique sound, he always leads but never follows. The success of his music has spawned a vast array of producers following in his footsteps, pushing the funky hardgroove techno genre to a wider global market, whilst at the very same time preserving the underground status that makes it so appealing. Experimenting with an abundance of different addictive tendancies, especially disco tinges, tribal drums and classic samples, has allowed Boriqua Tribez to cross genres meaning DJ's of all forms can play and leave dance floors in pieces with his Funky techno rhythms. Releases on the major players of the scene from as early as 2001, for nearly a decade Boriqua Tribez has been enlightening the world with pounding drums, ridiculous percussion and vocal stabs that were unheard of before within the Techno spectrum. By far my favourite techno outfit over the years so I decided to put this mix together yesterday, while under the influence but very much on it, with some of the best work as a dedication to his genius. Over 3 hours worth of grooves for your auditory pleasure. Latin / funk orientated electronica has never sounded so good.
